1. I created a new account but I still can't log in, why?
After registering, you should have received an e-mail confirming your registration. Open that e-mail and click on the provided link to complete the registration process. If you have not received the e-mail, please check your spam folder or contact us to help resolve the issue.
2. Scraawl does not accept my password. What should I do?
Make sure your password is at least 8 characters long and contains at least one letter, one number, and one of the following special characters: ! @ * # $ _% ^
3. I forgot my password. What should I do?
Use the Forgot password? link on the Scraawl home page, and follow the instructions to reset your password.
4. How do I close or delete my Scraawl account?
Go to your My Profile page and click on the Delete Scraawl Account button at the bottom of the page.
5. How can I sign up for a TxT account?
In order to sign up for a TxT account, all prospective users must get in touch with the Scraawl team through our Contact page. We do not currently offer a free version of TxT.
1. What file types does TxT accept?
TxT accepts documents and datasets of Microsoft Office documents, Apple iWorks documents, PDFs, Emails, HTML, XML, Rich Text Format, EPUB, and more.
2. Where can I access the uploaded text in TxT?
All uploaded data is accessible in your My Reports page.
1. How many datasets can I set up and how many documents can I upload per dataset?
The number of datasets allowed, and documents per dataset depends on your account privileges. Contact us if you are interested in upgrading your account.
2. I get a message that I have to delete a report before creating a new one, why?
Your license allows you to have a certain number of reports. You will get this message if you’ve reached your limit and are trying to create a new report. You can delete one or more of your existing reports to get around this. Different account types have different report limits. Contact us if you are interested in upgrading your account.
3. Is there a limit to the number of reports I can share?
Yes, your account type determines the number of reports that you can share. Check the My Profile page to see your account privileges.
4. How do I share a report with someone else?
You can share a report with anyone using the Share/Unshare feature which can be accessed from the Actions pulldown. By default, TxT datasets and reports are shared across your group.
5. Can I stop sharing a report?
Yes, if you are the owner of the report, you can revoke access to a particular recipient or all recipients of a shared report. To revoke access, select Share/Unshare from the Actions pulldown and then select the Revoke All button can be used to revoke access to any or all users.
2. Why is a box greyed out?
A grey box indicates that an analytic is in the process of development or that in order to access the analytic you must upgrade your plan.
3. Why aren’t the analytics automatically run?
Some of the Advanced Analytics offered by TxT allow you to configure the results. These analytics must be configured and run manually by users.
4. What sorts of categories does Named Entity Recognition and Resolution detect?
TxT can accurately detect named entities from 25+ categories such as facility, time, and geographic feature. TxT will then determine when two entities refer to the same thing in the real world (entity resolution).
5. What do the nodes represent in the Entity Relationship Graph?
The nodes represent entities and the links indicate relations between them. Find out more in the TxT features page.
6. How is Topic Modeling calculated?
TxT’s topic modeling analytic uses a language-independent probabilistic model to partition conversations into distinct themes. It looks at the pattern of word usage within and across texts, not at frequency. Learn more about Scraawl’s Topic Modeling analytic.
6. In what ways is Timeline Analytic different from the timeline in Basic Statistics?
Both are useful features, but the Timeline Analytic gives a break-out view of articles with description texts to gain a better temporal view of events and trends. Timeline in Basic Statistics, however, gives you the option to filter by time range.
7. How is Text Summarization calculated?
TxT summarizes a single document or finds the most relevant sentences from a collection of documents. The summarization algorithm uses diversity as a weighted feature so that unique, high frequency information tops the results.
8. Can TxT also analyze image data?
While TxT is not a visual data tool, it does offer image processing analytics such as Embedded Media Gallery. If you are interested in running analytics on purely visual data, you can learn more about Scraawl PixL.
1. What is Raw Data?
The Raw Data tab shows all the documents in your report. The documents are searchable using the supported operators (see the operators link under the Search box).
2. How can I search and filter my data?
There are many ways to filter your data in TxT. (1) You can use the Timeline sliders on the Basic Statistics dashboard to focus on text during a particular time period. (2) You can select and exclude text associated with elements from any of the Top Words or Top File Types on the Basic Statistics dashboard. (3) You can drill down into any of the Advanced Analytics and create a filter by clicking on the blue text. (4) You can use the geo-fencing feature on the Location Map to focus in on text from a particular region – remember to select the relevant geo-type (geo-coded or geo-referenced). (5) You can search and filter the Raw Data.
3. Can I search and filter from Raw Data?
Yes. You can use a number of search operators in Raw Data such as word-match, time, or username. A complete list of supported search expressions can be found by clicking on the operators link under the Search box in Raw Data.
